"Thai Massage on the Table" 2-Days, 14.0 Hours

Credits: CRMTA 14.0 CEC's, NHPC 10.0 CEC's, MTAS 14.0 Primary CEC's, CMMOTA 11.25 CEC's, MTANS 7.5 Primary CEC's, MTWPAM 14.0 Primary CEC's, MTAM 14.0 Core Competency Credits

Pre-requisites: None. Available as In-Person and On-Line Course

This is the perfect course for students who are looking to explore what Thai Massage is all about. this course gives you a little bit of what is learned from both Thai Yoga Massage Level 1 & Level 2 and explores massage sequences and yogic like stretches with the recipient in the Supine, Prone & Side Lying Positions. If you are limited for space in your studio/massage clinic, or cannot get down on a mat to work comfortably on a client, then this course is for you!

What you will learn in this course:

  • Learn a combination of Northern and Southern style Thai Massage and Passive Thai Yoga Stretches, as it can be applied on the Massage Table - the Practitioner has the option to either stay on the floor, or to move up and on/off the Table. Many possibilities will be explored.
  • Learn elements of Thai Yoga Massage that you are taught in Level 1 and Level 2: some Reflexology for the feet, work on the 3-major 'Sen Energy Lines' of legs and arms, Thai Yoga stretches for hip flexors, quadriceps, hamstrings, calves, shoulders, triceps, chest, plus R.O.M. for hips and spine. Full body work from head to toes, including massage for neck, shoulders, arms, hands, face, scalp and lower body.
  • Upon completion of this course, you will be able to perform a 60-90 min. Thai Yoga Massage on the Table.

Many students ask me what the difference is between this course, and taking the Thai Yoga Massage: Supine & Seated (Level 1) and the Thai Yoga Massage: Side Lying, Prone & Seated (Level 2) courses and I would say:

  • The Level 1 & 2 courses combined require a full 6-days to complete the training and offer the student a very comprehensive set of massage and in particular - the passive Yogic stretches. In these courses, you use your elbows and feet, whereas in the Table course, we do not. This is more to do with the fact that the techniques are more complex and varied in Level 1 & 2.
  • I like to emphasize that the Thai Massage on the Table course offers you a taste of the possibilities of what Thai Yoga Massage has to offer - it teaches you a little bit of some very effective massage and yogic-like stretches. You will come away with many massage options, but if you are really looking to offer some very unique Thai Yoga Stretches to your clients, you should consider taking the Level 1 and/or Level 2 course(s). You are permitted to take the Level 1 & 2 courses using a Massage Table. I have had many students do this and it is very easy to adapt the moves onto the Table. There ARE some limitations, though. You can't do all of the work on the Table. You simply need to be on a mat, where you have a lot of room to move, lift a leg in the air as you stand, etc.

What is included in this course:

  • Workbook with pictures and step-by-step abbreviations for all Thai Yoga Massage sequences
  • Unlimited 90-day Video On-Demand Access to the Zoom recordings of the training event. The link(s) will be provided to you approximately 7-days after you have completed your training.
  • Online Students: You will be mailed your Workbook. If you register for a pre-recorded course, you will receive the Zoom On-Demand Access recordings of the training event within 24 hours of registering. If you register for a course that is being recorded in the future, you will have the opportunity to participate in the Live Group Chats throughout each day. You will also receive the Zoom recording links for unlimited access for 90-days. You will be mailed your Certificate once you have completed a 1-hour private Zoom meeting with me to review any techniques and address Q & A's.
  • In-person students will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the last training day.

Thai Hand Reflexology is an ancient form of massage that is based on Thai Medicine and 'Sen Energy' healing. It is a non-invasive health technique that recognizes that parts of the body such as the hand and foot reflect the whole body. What makes Thai Hand Reflexology different from that of Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques, is the use of a wooden massage tool.

This is an exceptionally relaxing treatment to receive and provides the client with the chance to unwind fully. this treatment can be performed virtually anywhere, from an airplane, train or car to an office, shop, clinic, hospital or home. It is a safe, natural healing art that can be used effectively as an alternative to Foot Reflexology. For example, if someone has a foot injury, a leg and/or foot in a cast, ticklish feet, or if they don't want their feet worked on for personal reasons.

Thai Hand Reflexology is empowering, because whether someone suffers from irritable bowel syndrome, sinusitis, headache, needs relief from stress, or to boost immunity, it can help. An added benefit of Hand Reflexology is that the Practitioner can use the techniques on themselves.

"Thai Hot Herbal Compress Massage" 2-Day Course, 14.0 Hours

Credits: NHPC 10.0 CEC's, MTAS 10.0 CEC's

Pre-requisites: None / Available as In-Person and On-Line Course

The method of using Hot Herbal Compresses is inherited from local Thai wisdom and Old School Doctors. The Herbal Compress contains a combination of traditional Thai Herbs and is heated in a steamer. The warm bundles are applied directly to the skin or over light clothing during a massage session.

The Compresses can be used on almost any part of the body, (except for the face, where different ingredients are used) depending on where the illness, pain or discomfort is - such as legs, feet, knees, back, waist, hip, shoulder, arm & hands, stomach and side of the body. Generally, the blend of traditional herbs are used to relieve sprains and strained muscles and tendons, stiffness in joints, inflammation and also stimulating blood circulation. The Compresses have a relaxing and invigorating effect on the body and mind, while simultaneously soothing sore and over-worked muscles and giving a boost to the body's energy levels. The aromatherapy effect from herbs such as ginger, galangal, kaffir lime and turmeric are heavenly.

In a typical treatment, gentle pressure and compression are used to stimulate internal organs, relax tense muscles and calm the nervous system. Passive yogic-like stretching adjusts the skeletal structure, increases flexibility and restores movement. Often compared to a dance, it uses rocking motions. Ideal for those desiring a deep relaxation, immunity boosting, release from stress, enhanced flexibility, as well as for those seeking to increase their level of health, well-being and vitality.

What you will learn in this course:

  • Learn how to make and tie up your own Herbal Compresses, using a combination of both dry and fresh ingredients.
  • Learn how to prepare, steam and test the Herbal Compresses for heat before applying to the body, in addition to the method and precautions of applying the Compresses in a treatment.
  • Learn how to either offer Thai Hot Herbal Compress treatments using oil and draping or with the client fully clothed in dry Thai Massage style.
  • Learn about the properties and health benefits of 10-herbs that are typically used in the Compresses.
  • Learn how to apply Thai Massage and the Hot Herbal Compresses with the recipient in the Supine, Side Lying, Prone and Seated positions.
  • Upon completion of this course, you will be able to offer your client a 60-120 min. Thai Hot Herbal Compress Massage treatment, working the whole body, from head to toes, with or without oil. All of the Hot Herbal Compress techniques may be applied in any holistic body therapy technique or regular massage routine.
  • The Herbal Compresses may also be used in self care at home. The balls can be re-steamed and applied to areas of discomfort or placed in a bath, to be used as an infusion.

What is included in this course:

  • Picture workbook of Thai Massage and how to use Herbal Compress techniques, shown in a step-by-step manner.
  • List of herbs used in Hot Herbal Compresses, their benefits, properties and characteristics, plus several traditional 'recipes' for making up bundles.

  • Unlimited 90-day Video On-Demand Access to the Zoom Media recordings of this training event. The link(s) will be provided to you approximately 7 days after you have completed your training.
